If you are looking for a great dish full of flavor, you will find it with this salmon recipe. It’s The Best Savory Salmon Steaks recipe because of its savory buttery garlic flavors, solid health benefits and ready to eat in under 30 minutes. This is a family favorite recipe and you’ll know exactly why after you try it.
This recipe has been years in the making. My mom gave me a similar recipe many years ago and since then I’ve been tweaking it to become the BEST savory salmon steaks recipe. Given that we live in the middle of Utah, a landlocked state, we don’t have this as often as we’d like because fresh salmon can be a little pricey. But when we do have it, it is a true family favorite. My girls, who aren’t super keen of the fish scene, like it. That’s definitely an added bonus.
This recipe is quick and easy. The full printable recipe is below but to start, here’s what you’ll need.
To make the marinade/sauce, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic, minced/grated onion, and Worcestershire sauce. If you’re a basil fan, also add a tablespoon finely chopped basil. I love basil but my girls don’t prefer it with salmon so I omit it until after. Have the salt and pepper near by to add on top. Next cut your salmon fillet into steaks. Remember to go a little bigger on the parts that are thinner and not as wide on the parts that are much thicker. This will help with even cooking.
Once the melted butter mixture is mixed, spoon it over the salmon steaks. Then salt and pepper each piece. They are ready for the oven.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh basil if desired and serve immediately. So easy, right?! And wait until you taste them. They are so good! To make this dinner even better, try it with these Roasted Basil, Garlic, Parmesan Zucchini and Brussels Sprouts.
If you are a salmon fan, you are going to love this recipe. Even landlocked, my whole family can enjoy this delicious salmon for the price I’d pay for one of us to enjoy it at a restaurant. After trying this recipe, you will want this any time you have salmon.
