Whether you need a last-minute Halloween treat or a quick and easy treat for a Batman party these EASY bat cookies are sure to please.  They literally only take 2 ingredients and 5 minutes to make.  Little and big fingers alike will love these fun, festive bat cookies.

These chocolate-dipped yellow cookies with a mini oreo bat?!?! Fun and clever, don’t you think? 😉  They turn out awesome every time.  I’ll be making a batch of these easy bat cookies for a neighborhood Halloween party this week.

Ingredients Needed:

2 ingredients…

ingredients-and-supplies

You can find these ingredients at Walmart or on Amazon  (and you don’t even have to leave your house).  The Candy Melts are usually found by the cake decorating supplies and party supplies.

If you don’t care for candy coating and what to use regular white chocolate died yellow, just be careful because white chocolate tends to seize or become hard when coloring is added.  Going this route, you may need to add a little oil to thin the chocolate and avoid seizing the chocolate.  I prefer regular white chocolate but for this, it’s so much easier to just use the yellow candy melts.

Making Easy Bat Cookies

STEP 1: Melt the yellow Candy Melts.  This usually only takes a minute or so in the microwave.  Heat the chips for about 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between.  Once it’s melted, dip one side of the regular-sized oreo cookies to coat.  These are your “yellow moons.”  Set them aside on a sheet of waxed paper to set and harden. (See the first picture below)

Note:  Another benefit to using yellow Candy Melts is that candy coating chocolate sets harder and quicker than regular chocolate.  This fact is always a good thing when you’re in a hurry.

STEP 2: Split the mini Oreos to reveal the cream filling.  With the cream filling on one side (use this side for the body of the bat), break the non-cream side in half for the wings.  Use a small amount of cream as glue on each wing and attach the wings to the cookie “body.” (See the second picture below)

STEP 3: After the chocolate-covered “full moons” are set, lightly pressed the mini Oreo bat onto the cookie. (See the third picture below).  You’re done!
