Ingredients
- 1 lb Fresh frozen, then thawed Ahi Tuna Steaks
- 1/4 cup blackened seasoning
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1-2 tablespoons wasabi sauce
Method
Seared Ahi Tuna:
- Heavily season fresh tuna steaks on both sides.
- Heat skillet over medium-high to high heat.
- Cook tuna for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes per side or until cooked 1/3 through each side. Don't over cook. there should be a raw pink ribbon through the center (about 1/3 of the thickness of the tuna steak).
- Remove from skillet and let cook until handleable. Carefully slice into 1/4 inch thick slices, cutting AGAINST the grain of the fish.
- Plate and serve with soy wasabi dipping sauce.
Spicy Soy Wasabi Dipping Sauce:
- Whisk wasabi sauce into soy sauce. Depending on spiciness level you desire, add more or less wasabi sauce.
