An easy 5-minutes or less eggnog syrup perfect for Christmas morning breakfast, on pancakes, waffles and more.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp rum extract optional

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk all ingredients together.
  2. Serve warm or chilled. See notes.

Notes

If warming, place syrup in a microwave-safe bowl, cup or jar. Heat in the microwave for 30-60 seconds or until just warm. Warming the syrup will cause it to become very thin. This is due to the sugar dissolving and turning liquid.
If you prefer thicker syrup do not warm.
Store leftover syrup in an airtight container, I like using a mason jar with lid that seals. Will keep 5-7 days if kept in the fridge OR until expiration date of eggnog you used in the recipe (which ever is soonest).
