Easy Sausage Gravy

A delicious, resturant-quality sausage gravy that only requires 5 basic ingredients and can be made in 15 minutes or less.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz pork sausage mild or hot depending preference
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 Tablespoons lfour
  • 2 cups milk see notes

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, brown sausage. (about 5 minutes)
  2. Sprinkle flour, pepper, and salt over sausage. Cook until flour is fully incorporated. (about 1 minute)
  3. Carefully add milk. Stir constantly until gravy has thickened. (about 3-5 minutes)
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Gravy will thicken more as it cools.
  5. Serve with french fries, biscuits, toast, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, etc.

Notes

Using higher fat content milk (2% or whole milk) is preferred and will give you a more creamy, rich gravy. If you only have skim or 1% milk, they will work fine but your gravy won't be quite as creamy.
