Ginger Snap Cookies

Spicy ginger snap cookies are a perfect cookie for the holidays! These soft and chewy ginger snap cookies are sweet, spicy and deliciously bite-sized.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar plus additional for rolling
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, and molasses until light and fluffy (1-2 minutes).
  3. Add egg and mix.
  4. Sift dry ingredients together.
  5. Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture. Mix only until flour mixture is completely mixed in.
  6. Using a 1.5 tsp scoop, form small cookie balls. Roll in sugar and place on a lined cookie sheet (35 total per sheet--5 rows of 7).
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 6 minutes.
  8. Repeat for remaining dough or refrigerate until ready to bake.
