Prep Time 3 minutes
Cook Time 14 minutes
Pressurizing Time (inactive) 10 minutes
Total Time 27 minutes
Servings: 5 cups fluffed

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Jasmine long grain or basmati rice, rinsed
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth or water + 2-3 teaspoons chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 Tbs butter coconut or olive oil

Method

  1. Rinse rice at least 5 times to remove excess starch and dust.
  2. Place rinsed and drained rice in Instant Pot.
  3. Add broth or water and bouillon and butter or oil.
  4. Give rice a quick stir. Secure lid. Confirm the pressure valve is set to seal.
  5. Press the "Manual" button on "HIGH" for 4 minutes.
  6. Instant Pot will take 5-10 minutes to come to pressure and begin counting down. Once timer goes off let rice NATURAL RELEASE for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Once it has natural released for 10 minutes, carefully turn the pressure valve to release any additional pressure.
  8. Carefully open the Instant Pot lid. Using a fork or rice paddle, carefully fluff the rice.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Rinse rice in cold water at least 5x or until water runs crystal clear. This helps remove extra starch and dust.
  • If you prefer a more firm rice, add 2 cups rice to 2 cups water or a 1:1 ratio.
  • If you prefer a softer rice, add 2 cups rice to 2 3/4 cups broth/water or 1:1.75 ratio.
For storage:
Store cooked rice a ziploc bag or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. When reheating, cover rice to lesson moisture loss during cooking.
