These easy lightsaber popsicle holders are a fantastic way to celebrate Star Wars.  What better day to do that is today… May 4th. 😉

Happy May 4th!

Hey, hey from Canada!  Yes, we live in Utah but this week we are spending time visiting family in Canada.  My husband’s grandma is turning 85 today so we packed up the 4 little misses and made the 12-hour trek north.  So glad we did.  We’ve only been here for a couple days and are loving it.  We’re staying with family on their little farm.  The girls have already collected chicken eggs, road the horse, feed the cows.  I just love it (and clearly, they do too).

The girls and I made these fun lightsaber popsicle holders last week in preparation for the famous StarWars themed May 4th.  You know the saying, May the “4th” be with you!  How fun is that?!

These lightsaber otter pop holders are so quick and easy to make.  The girls had fun helping me. Here are the supplies you’ll need to make your own.

  • grey felt
  • black felt
  • red felt
  • hot glue gun + hot glue
  • scissors
  • otter pops, of course

We cut the grey felt into 4 equal pieces, black strips, and small red circles for the buttons. Easy Star Wars Lightsaber Popsicle Holder | Kitchen Cents

Once all the pieces were cut we started by making the grey tube. We used hot glue to secure the grey tube.  These lightsaber popsicle holders come together so quickly.

Once the tube was formed we added the black strips and red button.  We used the hot glue to attach these too.  If you don’t want to use hot glue especially if you are making these with kiddos, you can definitely use super glue or tacky glue.

We left our holders open at the bottom so we could slide the holders up as the popsicle got shorter.  We eventually glued shut the bottoms of two of these because our almost 2-year-old kept dropping hers.  It would slide out of the holder because she wouldn’t grip it tight enough.

For today I really just wanted to share these fun lightsaber popsicle holders.  You can use store-bought otter pops or make your own.  We love using these popsicle bags to make homemade otter pops.  I love mixing new flavors and keeping things healthy.  In the next couple weeks, I will be sharing these super delicious otter pop/popsicle recipes.  One is a green smoothie full of spinach and kiwi and the other is triple berry.  Both are whole fruit and so refreshing (no sugar added), perfect for the beautiful, warmer weather we are starting to enjoy.
