Show some 4th of July spirit with these Patriotic Red, White & Blueberry Crackling Poppers. They have a fun pop-crackling surprise when you bit into them!
Can you believe the month of July starts TOMORROW?! With everything going on around here (stay tuned for some big Koller news coming next week 😉 ), June has come and gone. Crazy!
The 4th of July is right around the corner. Yikes! I have an awesome (super fun and easy) treat for you to make for your freedom celebration or fireworks snack. You can have these sweet treats ready in under 30 minutes.
Here comes the red, white, and blue with this popping firecracker treat. In this case, with blueberries and white chocolate. YUM! The bottom red blueberry is my favorite in my opinion. That’s where the crackling pop surprise is. 😉 Can you guess what makes these sweet treats crackle and pop in your mouth?
POP ROCKS! No joke. Do you remember those little grains of colorful sugary sweetness that popped and fizzled in your mouth the second they hit your tongue? I hadn’t had them since I was a kid. It brought back so many memories when I popped one of these blueberry crackling poppers in my mouth. It was a party in my mouth!
These little bites of goodness are really easy to make so don’t miss out. Go get yourself some red Pop Rocks and blueberries and make um!
4 ingredients are all you need! (Plus the toothpicks, of course).
Red Pop Rocks are actually kind of pink/orange so I decided to mix them with red sugar sprinkles. The steps to making these are pretty simple. Using a toothpick, skewer 3 blueberries (of similar sizes) onto the stick. Dip the bottom two blueberries into the white chocolate. Tap to remove excess.
Carefully dip bottom chocolate covered blueberry into the sprinkles Pop Rocks mixture. Set aside to harden. You can let them harden standing straight up or lay them on their side.
My girls (3 years old and 5 years old) loved helping me skewer the blueberries and dip them in the white chocolate but they loved eating the final popping treat the most. Then again, who wouldn’t agree!
Pretty easy, right? Even the “anti-baker” can make a few of these and everyone will love them. You can serve these little fruit poppers with some Pop Rock candy packs in sight or let them be surprised. That’s how I like to roll. Haha.
Just plan to keep them in the fridge until you serve them to keep the fruit fresh and the chocolate solid. Have a fun, safe weekend ya’ll!
How will you be celebrating the 4th of July?
