HOW DO I MAKE A PHILLY CHEESE STEAK SANDWICH ON FRENCH BREAD?

This sandwich is easy. How about I stop telling you that and show you instead.

Start by sauteing the onions and peppers.

Next, add the ground beef and brown.

Once the beef is browned, thicken the juices that have been released. This creates a delicious, flavorful gravy-like sauce. It’s SO good!

Lastly, add cheese and stir until it’s ooey, gooey, melty.

Load it up on top of the french bread that’s been cut in half and lightly toasted.

PRO TIP #1: Toasting the french bread before assembling creates a better texture and helps reduce bread sogginess.

PRO TIP #2: Make it on garlic bread! If you’re looking to add even more flavor to your giant Philly cheese steak sandwich, make this sandwich using a loaf of garlic french bread or add a simple garlic butter (4 oz softened butter, 1 tsp granulated garlic, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp parsley-optional) to your french bread before toasting. SO freaking good!

As you can see part of our sandwich is cheeseless. If you’ve ready about me and my family you already know, my husband won’t eat any form of cultured dairy (including all cheeses). I share recipes my family enjoys and this is how we roll when a recipe includes cheese. Haha.

Once the meat is on top of the toasted bread, sprinkle with more cheese and cover with the top piece. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until bread is heated and cheese is melted.

It’s ready to enjoy.

Easy peezy, right? It’s so yummy and so worth a try.

It really only takes about 20 minutes or so to make this meal which is a busy night win for me!

PERFECT FOR A CROWD!

This Philly cheese steak sandwich is great for a crowd. This recipe makes a sandwich on a full loaf of french bread. Depending on if you are planning a Superbowl party or family meal, you can cut this Philly cheese streak sandwich into 6-12 servings.

Can you imagine having this at your next game day party? YAY! This would be perfect for guests.

Stay tuned for another Philly cheese steak recipe I’ve tried recently and loved. It’s hand-held and just as good as this giant Philly cheese steak sandwich (maybe better–according to my dad)!
